Having a Growth Mindset!!

Image
Hello World!!  Something that I have learned in college that has helped me a lot over the past year is something called Growth Mindset. It is a theory brought about by a woman named Carol Dweck. You can read all about it  here. I have found this to be incredibly helpful when trying to remain positive while failing in life. At times, when you fail it is difficult to get yourself to keep trying especially when you find that everyone around you is doing much better than you. For some people this can be intimidating and discouraging and it usually was the case with me as well.  When I was in school, I feel that I was in the growth group rate for some scenarios and in the fixed mindset rate for others. I worked really hard in school as well as in life on various relationships. There was a lot going on during that period of my life, so I had no option but to be of the growth group. I needed to overcome all of my challenges and come out stronger on the other side. I...

Organic Skincare

Image
Hello World!!   Today we will be talking about organic skincare! It has been all the rage lately! Many people have been doing their best to put everything organic onto and even into their body. Of course what you choose to do with your body is entirely your decision, however, many things can be absorbed through the skin so it's always good to go that extra mile.  One of the biggest reasons so many people are going crazy over organic products is that almost all of them contain all natural ingredients compared to other products that have parabans and even fragrances that irritate the skin. This can be a severe issue for people who have incredibly sensitive skin or find that they are allergic to certain ingredients. The options for such people are ridiculously limiting.  Often times, natural ingredients such as jasmine or vanilla beans for scent, shea butter for nourishment and vitamins, almond or coconut oil for that creamy feel as well as anti-aging properties, aloe ...

A Few of My Favorite Places!

Image
Hello World!! Throughout your lifetime you travel to various places, but only a few, if any of them, have the capability to leave a mark on your heart. These place leave stamps of happiness, comfort, and even admiration on your heart. They leave you with peace and tranquility as well as huge cheesy my-pizza-is-here-grins on your face. They mean something to you and you would do anything to go back even if it's just for a day, an hour, a minute, even a second. They are your happy places! Take my word for it, if you find a place that you fall in love with, a place that finds it's way into your heart, never let it go. Hold onto it for dear life. Allow it to give you a reason to find your little ray of sunshine in this crazy mixed-up world. If you find anything that gives your heart warmth, keep it safe and don't forget to share it so that the world can be happy along with you!  Here are a few of my favorite heart-warming places if you will! 1) Toronto, Ca...

Eyebrows

Image
Hello World!!  Today we will be talking about what I feel are the most important features of a person's face, their eyebrows. I think that eyebrows are like the frame of a face. If your eyebrows look terrible then your makeup won't look as perfected and as polished as you would want it to be. There are many ways to shape your eyebrows, but in all honestly the best way to get them all shaped would be to go to a professional. This way they can choose and apply the best shape for your face shape.  The basic way of  shaping you eyebrows can be seen in the diagram below. This diagram clearly shows you exactly what you need to get the perfect eyebrows. Number 1 is where your eyebrow should begin with a straight line forming from edge of your nose. Number 2 is the arch of your eyebrow. This begins from the edge of your nose to the edge of your pupil in a diagonal line. The final point is point 3. This point comes from the edge of your nose to the edge of your eye ending exac...

Contoruing versus Strobing

Image
Hello World!! Contouring and strobing are two fairly new makeup trends that I feel are polar opposites of each other. In order to differentiate the two we need to make sure we know exactly what each trend is all about! It is important to know have immense knowledge of new trends in order to make sure that we can not only make an educated choice but also be able to educate others who have question about these things as well.  Contouring: Contouring became all the rage when  the Kardashians chose publicize their makeup preferences. Suddenly contouring was everywhere. Everyone wanted to look perfect just like the Kardashian clan. Makeup companies raked in a ridiculous amount of profit thanks to our incessant desire to look picture perfect that took over the world like wildfire. Contour powders, bronzers, matte highlighting sticks suddenly became the new must haves.  Strobing: Strobing, on the other hand is all about accentuating the beautiful features that you alr...
